Biography
Nalin is a seasoned business and finance professional, as well as a recognised thought leader, with over 39 years of experience in corporate and project finance across a broad range of infrastructure sectors worldwide. Most recently, he served as Global Head of Project Development & Structured Finance at Philips Healthcare. Prior to joining Philips, Nalin spent 20 years with General Electric, holding a variety of senior leadership roles across London, Singapore, and India. With extensive experience in both equity and debt capital markets, and strong relationships across legal, financial, and investment banking communities, Nalin continues to advise businesses and service providers globally.
Throughout his career, Nalin has been responsible for structuring and delivering a wide range of financing solutions, including trade finance, deferred payment structures, lease financing, structured debt, quasi-equity, and private equity transactions. These engagements have involved collaboration with energy and healthcare developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, multilateral agencies, international financial institutions, and numerous Export Credit Agencies worldwide. As a result, he has developed an extensive global network across the banking, finance, energy, and healthcare sectors.
Earlier in his career, Nalin worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, where he led investments across a range of sectors, including synthetic fibres, cement, and electronics. Prior to IFC, he was with Bank of America’s Corporate Financial Services division, advising clients on project and corporate finance transactions and managing IPOs.
Nalin has led diverse, multicultural teams and delivered projects across key markets including China, Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. He was previously registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority and has served on the boards of several companies over the past two decades.
